Australia is to apply GST to all online purchases bought overseas from July 2017.
It currently only applies to overseas online purchases worth $AU1000 or more.
After talks with his state and territory counterparts in Canberra today, federal treasurer Joe Hockey said the GST-free threshold would be abolished.
New Zealand has also announced a plan to apply GST to overseas goods and services. The public submission period on the plan closes on 25 September.
