Standin’ On The Mountain Top                Seals And Crofts fifth studio album “Diamond Girl” was one of the best sellers of 1973

Don’t Let It Die              Hurricane Smith worked as an engineer on all the Beatles' sessions between 1962 and 1965. This song was written when John Lennon joked that the Beatles were short of a song while recording the soundtrack for Help

Beautiful              Carol King from one of the biggest selling albums of all time with over 25 million copies sold world-wide. 

And When I Die             Blood Sweat And Tears.  This was one of the first songs written by Laura Nyro, who was 17 when she wrote it.

Rocky Mountain High            John Denver … If you've been to the Rockies, you know what he is singing about

Down On The Corner              Creedence Clearwater Revival -This song tells the story of a fictional jug band, Willy and the Poor Boys, who were street musicians "playing for nickels, can't be beat."

Woman From Tokyo               Deep Purple - "Woman From Tokyo" is hailed as one of the greatest guitar rock classics ever and is the sole track from the album Who Do We Think We Are to actually go anywhere,

Maxwell’s Silver Hammer               The Beatles from Abbey Road,. Paul McCartney said of this song: "It epitomizes the downfalls in life. Just when everything is going smoothly, Bang! Bang! Down comes Maxwell's Silver Hammer and ruins everything." 

The Guitar man                      Bread  Larry Knechtel played the lead guitar parts in the song.

Only Living Boy In New York                   Simon And Garfunkel.  Paul Simon wrote this song about his partner Art Garfunkel going to Mexico to act in a movie called Catch-22.

Reelin’ In The Years               Steely Dan   Elliot Randall's solo on this is arguably one of the best guitar solos in rock history.

I’ll Never Fall In Love Again          Dionne Warwick …Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote this for the Broadway musical Promises, Promises, Neil Simon's musical adaptation of Billy Wilder's screenplay The Apartment. Bacharach & David had added this song to the musical at the last minute at a time when Burt had the flu, which explains Hal David's little joke of rhyming "Pneumonia" with "Phone ya."

Your Mama Don’t Dance                 Loggins and Messina  I always thought that this song expresses the frustrations of many kids about how uncool their parents are. 

Close To You                 The carpenters - In their first sessions for this song, Karen Carpenter played the drums, which producer Herb Alpert didn't like.., so he suggested very carefully to Karen that maybe Hal Blaine should come in and play drums on it."
Girl You’ll be A Woman Soon                   Neil Diamond apparantley wrote this one for the ladies, which made up most of his fan base in the early 70s. 

Sweet Baby James                  James Taylor Rockabye, Sweet Baby James" -

Time                              Pink Floyd …This song is about how time can slip by, but many people do not realize it until it is too late. Roger Waters got the idea when he realized he was no longer preparing for anything in life, but was right in the middle of it. He had just turned 28..

Mama Told me Not To Come This was written by Randy Newman, the son of Academy Award-winning composer Lionel Newman. It is about a party that left a "bad taste" in the writer's mouth. The drug scene was fairly new to American middle-class youth at that time. 

New Horizons                Moody Blues in philosophical mood addressing love and conciousness … a favourite of Moody Blues fans from the Seventh Sojourn Album

All Things Must Pass              George Harrison The song is about moving on in life. Harrison was dealing with the breakup of The Beatles.

I’m Still In Love With You               Al Green from his fifth studio album in 1972. 

Make me Smile             Chicago One of Terry Kath's greatest moments. His vocals and guitar playing are really strong on this song. 

Daniel                            Elton John This was written and recorded the same day. Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics one morning at the recording studio and brought them downstairs to Elton, who put music to it and recorded with the band that day.

On The Way Home                           Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young – something from 4-way Street – the 4th album.

.C’est La Vie                            Emerson, lake, Palmer from the 5th studio album about 1977 …

Every Night                    Paul McCartney wrote this song during a holiday in Greece. It spotlights the depression he suffered after the break-up of The Beatles. 

You’re So Vain              Carly Simon started recording this with Harry Nilsson singing backup, but Mick Jagger ended up singing on it instead …

Heart Of Gold                Neil Young  became the first Canadian to have a #1 album in the US when Harvest topped the Billboard 200 for two weeks in April 1972. 

You Are The Sunshine Of My Life             Stevie Wonder wrote this for his girfriend Syreeta Wright who later became his first wife. 

Ruby Love                     Cat Stevens from Teaser And The Firecat – an album and a children’s book written by Cat Stevens in 1971

Horse With No name               America  This song was written by Dewey Bunnell.It was inspired by the time he spent horseback riding in New Mexico and Arizona as a child.He wrote this song one rainy day in England while he longed for the heat and dryness of the desert he remembered from his youth.

Without You                                     Harry Nilsson with his major hit song, originally recorded by Badfinger because band members Pete Ham and Tom Evans wrote it …
