A Girl Like You            the Troggs came on like a ton of Bricks with “Wild Thing” Long before the phrase "punk rock" became common to describe raw or primitive rock styles, in the 1960s the Troggs were as punk rock as any band could be.

My Sunday feeling                    from the first album by jethro Tull “This Was’.

Shine On brightly                             an album instrumental in the development of “progressive rock” from Procul Harum. 

You Keep me hanging On                Vanilla Fudge the Amemrican rockers recorded five albums in three years before disbanding in 1970. 

She’s About A Mover              Sir Douglas Quintet, from San Antonio, Texas …exponents of good-time music with strong roots in blues and Texas regional traditions. 

 I Can’t Stop Loving You               Ray Charles from the landmark album in American music – taking Ray Charles into the Pop market without losing his Rhythm and Blues and Soul followers.

Running Scared                 Roy orbison from the second album released by Monument Records …with 9 of the 12 songs on the collection written by Orbison and his writing partner Joe Melson.

New York Mining Disaster 1941             Bee Gees first – well, the first International release in 1967.  

Hurdy Gurdy Man                           Donovan wrote the song for some of his old mates in the band Hurdy Gurdy, but due to creative disagreements, the collaboration fell through, so Donovan decided to record it himself

Dear Mr Fantasy                    Traffic on the debut album. 

Have You Seen Your Mother baby Standing In The Shadows        The Rolling Stones from the American compilation of top singles …collected from studio sessions dating back to 1965. Flowers reached #3 in the US during the late summer of 1967 and went gold.

Here Comes The Night                  Them – with the song that Bert Berns originally wrote for Lulu.  Jimmy Page played guitar on the original arrangement, with Phil Coulter on keyboards. 

Closing My Eyes.                                                 the third album by blues-rock band Fleetwood Mac – the first with Danny Kirwin and the last with Peter Green.      

It Won’t Be Long          the Beatles second album …carrying on where Please Please Me left off.  None of the tracks from With The Beatles was released as a single in the UK and the distinctive black and white cover shot by Robert Freeman also broke new ground for a pop album. 

Tombstone Blues                                                           Highway 61 Revisited has remained among the most highly acclaimed of Dylan's works.

babe I’m Gonna leave You                      QMS were integral to the beginnings of the Psychedelic scene – a sensation in the San Francisco Bay area With their jazz and classical influences, as well as a strong folk background, the band attempted to create a sound that was individual and innovative.         


Time Of The Season                    The Zombies split up before the album Odyssey and Oracle was released, they never performed any of the songs onstage.

At Last                                    Etta James with a 1941 song that became her signature song in 1961.

California Dreamin’              Mamas And papas with their wonderful debut, the thing I remember reading about it all at the time was that the group didn’t want the usual guitar break in the middle, and whilst recording it, jazz saxophone and flute player Bud Shank was outside the recording studio.  He was invited into the session, played the alto flute piece and nailed it first time. 

Up On Cripple Creek           The band in 1969 – sometimes called The Brown Album. 

My back Pages           The Byrds -Although it was largely overlooked by the public at the time of its release, the album's critical standing has improved over the years and today Younger Than Yesterday is considered one of The Byrds' finest albums.

You Won’t See me                   The Beatles from the 6th, and some would say The best album, Rubber Soul. 

Evil Ways                             Santana - This was originally recorded by Willie Bobo in 1965, and the song was written by Bobo's guitarist Sonny Henry.
