A group which opposes the Marine and Coastal Act, has been granted permission to be heard on an iwi's application for customary marine title in Ikaroa-Rawhiti. A Whanganui Maori development organisation is aiming to get 500 submissions to restrict the sale of synthetic drugs in the city. The Maori Medical Practitioners Association says it's watching very closely to see who takes over the reigns as the Associate Minister of Health after the next election. The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research says the gills of juvenile snapper in Kaipara Harbour are mutating due to an increase in sediment on the sea floor and their numbers are dropping.
