RNZ Music is thrilled to be the first to share the new song and video from Irish singer Wallis Bird. 'As The River Flows' is the first single from her sixth album, Woman, which is due out in September.
Wallis Bird has been making music all her life. The 37-year-old got her first guitar from her father when she was just six months old. A childhood lawnmower accident took her finger, and since then she's played guitar left-handed and upside down.
Wallis' first gigs were in pubs as a teenager, where she dealt with drunken hecklers by way of cheeky comebacks and good-natured banter.
Wallis moved to Germany in 2005 and self-released her first single 'Blossoms in the Street', which spent 20 weeks in the charts. Since then she's released five albums and has taken home two Irish Music Awards including Best Irish Female Artist.
She's toured extensively, building a name for herself around the world. Wallis brought her captivating live show to NZ for the first time in March.
