A Government strategy to reinforce and boost the health workforce has come without a timeline, or an immediate action plan.
Te Whata Ora says right now we are short close to 5000 nurses, 1700 doctors ,and just over 1000 midwives.
By 2033 that is expected to grow to needing 13,000 more nurses and more than 5000 more doctors.
