In France, crowds have gathered at rallies hosted by mayors in response to five nights of violent riots.
Thousands of people have been arrested in the riots which erupted when a teenager was shot at a police traffic stop.
President Emmanuel Macron has asked the interior ministry to keep a "massive" police presence on the streets in case more activity flares up.
