A shortage of donations is putting pressure on foodbanks across the North Island.
Foodbanks in Auckland, Tauranga and Kaitāia are having to turn people away empty-handed.
They say as the cost of living pressures continue, people are able to give as they once did.
Helen Robinson is the Auckland City Missioner and chair of the Zero Hunger Collective, a collective of six social service agencies.
She spoke to Guyon Espiner this morning.
