A Christchurch doctor says GP shortages are causing the longest primary care wait times he's seen.
A person died last week after they left Christchurch Hospital's emergency department during what's been described as a very busy period.
They later returned and were admitted to intensive care, where they died the next day.
Angus Chambers works in a general practice and urgent care centre in the city, where the wait time is now four to five hours.
He spoke to Māni Dunlop.
