Opponents of deep sea mining are taking their arguments onto the world stage at the United Nations Oceans Conference in Portugal. 

Some Pacific leaders have declared their stance on the issue.

Palau, Fiji, and Samoa are the latest to call for a moratorium on the emerging industry, in the first governmental alliance of its kind.

The Pacific Regional Lead on Deep Sea Mining for the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition Phil McCabe spoke to Susie Ferguson.
