Covid-19: Health Minister on government funding boost for ICU

North Shore, Tauranga and Christchurch hospitals are the first to receive a boost from a $100 million fund to expand intensive care facilities.

The Government has earmarked the capital spend from the Covid-19 Response and Recovery Fund to accelerate ICU projects. It plans to spend another $544 million to fund ongoing costs like staffing.

Health Minister Andrew Little says as the country shifts to the traffic-light system, we need to make sure we can cope with the unexpected.

He spoke to Corin Dann.
