New Zealanders stranded abroad finally have some certainty from the government about when they can return home.
Those fully vaccinated will soon be able to skip the MIQ lottery and instead, isolate at home for seven days.
The reopening of the borders will be staggered - New Zealanders in Australia will be first from mid January, New Zealanders from the rest of the world in February, and fully vaccinated foreign travellers in April.
