From Morning Report, 7:58 am on 22 July 2021

The eyes of the rugby world will be on the findings of a New Zealand study researching whether headgear can mitigate the impact of concussion.

The only brand of headgear approved for use under World Rugby's regulations will be assessed by University of Canterbury physiologist, Professor Nick Draper.

He has been awarded more than $100,000 to do a two-year field study of junior players, amid growing concern about the health and safety of the sport.

Professor Draper spoke to Corin Dann.
