Trans advocate Kristin Worley supports Laurel Hubbard selection

Kiwi weightlifter Laurel Hubbard will make history at the Tokyo Olympics, becoming the first transgender athlete to compete.

The 43-year-old is one of five weighlifting athletes selected for the New Zealand Olympic team. She is tipped as a medal contender in the women's super heavyweight category.

Kristen Worley is a former world-class cyclist turned international diversity advisor and trans-rights advocate.

Born in New Zealand, she is now based in Canada.
