An Auckland Councillor wants to see a new chief executive at the Ports of Auckland. It follows a scathing review into health and safety - commissioned by the council after three deaths and multiple injuries among port workers in recent years.
The report says there was a disconnect between frontline staff and management on health and safety, and revealed fears of retribution for raising concerns.
Councillor Chris Darby told reporter Katie Doyle there has been a dearth of leadership at the port, and new blood needs to be found.
