An environmental group says a new High Court decision risks setting a precedent that could significantly harm environmentally important areas.
The High Court has upheld a Board of Inquiry decision granting resource consent to the stalled East-West Link road in Auckland.
Forest and Bird is considering appealing to the highest court in the land - the Supreme Court.
Its lawyer Peter Anderson told RNZ reporter Hamish Cardwell the High Court's decision could open the door to infrastructure projects that would previously have been rejected.
