Investors locking first home buyers out of the market in regions and cities

Investors have been hoovering up houses for sale at a rate not seen since 2016 - heaping misery on first time buyers.

Core Logic, which provides data to the Reserve Bank, says investors bought around one in four properties in final months of 2020.

A phenomenon that has historically beset major cities is now hurting those in the regions.

Reporter Katie Doyle spoke to some would-be buyers looking for a home.
