Scott Base carpenter training for ultra adventure run in freezing temperatures

New Zealand's Scott Base carpenter Joey Blatch has been in Antarctica for thirteen months, and now he's also signed up for one of the hardest races in the world.

The Revenant, a race of over 190 kilometres through Blackmore Station on the border of Southland and Central Otago, ascends around 16,000 vertical metres - almost twice the height of Mt Everest.

Joey Blatch has been training outside in the negative 31 degree temperatures From Antarctica, he speaks to Corin Dann.
