Covid-19: Farmers want help to fix labour shortages

Farmers and growers say if agriculture is to drag the country's economy back into shape, they'll need help to fix labour shortages.

While urban New Zealand went into a strict lockdown in April and May, agriculture, forestry and fishing saw only a marginal drop in activity.

As the world emerges from the pandemic, exports of dairy, fresh food and timber are seen as vital to New Zealand's recovery.
