Lawyers say they're being inudated with separation enquiries as relationships buckle under the pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Auckland barrister and mediator Jeremy Sutton is among lawyers predicting a spike in the total rate of divorces.
He says his enquries about splitting property, and child care arrangements, have gone up by a quarter, which is on par with most family lawyers he knows.
Sutton told RNZ reporter Katie Todd the pandemic has intensified existing issues in people's relationships.
He's seen a wide range of people seeking help.
