Age of eligibility for superannuation back in the spotlight

From Morning Report, 8:20 am on 27 August 2019

Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters says the National Party is throwing older people under the bus by trying to change superannuation.

The party wants to increase the age of entitlement from 65 to 67. National's finance spokesperson Paul Goldsmith says the rise in retirement age would ensure the long-term sustainability of the superannuation scheme.

Former retirement commissioner Dame Diana Crossan called for a rise in the age in 2010. She spoke to Susie Ferguson.
