Auckland water shortage: City urged to shorten showers

From Morning Report, 7:53 am on 8 August 2019

Aucklanders are being asked to shorten their showers to conserve water, as the city's dams fall to historically low levels.

The largest dams in the Hunua Ranges are only about two-thirds full, when they're normally about 90 percent at this time of year.

The rest of the year is forecast to be drier than normal. However on streets of central Auckland, the message that people need to save water, had yet to register.
