A clean-up is underway on Wednesday morning on the shores of Lake Taupō after a massive sewage spill on Tuesday.
An estimated 80 percent of the town's wastewater spilled into the lake over an hour and a half when a water main burst, creating a washout that took out the sewer line.
Sewage spread along two hundred metres of the lake front, as well as washing down the Waikato River.
For the latest we can talk to the district council's chief executive, Gareth Green.
