Trump found to have lost $US1 billion in a decade

From Morning Report, 8:39 am on 9 May 2019

Tax records that have been newly obtained by the New York Times show that Donald Trump's businesses lost over one billion dollars between 1985 and 1994. A key focus of Mr Trump's presidential campaign was the story of his business success, but a major investigation published by the New York Times last night is questioning that narrative. A lawyer for the President said the New York Times reporting is false. He did not provide any specifics. Russ Buettner is an investigative journalist at the New York Times who co-wrote the article. He says it's now clear the personal narrative Donald Trump has presented over the years is far from the truth.
