Women lawyers 'bitterly disappointed' in Russell McVeagh

Lawyers at Russell McVeagh are reported to be bitterly disappointed the firm is once again making headlines over the behaviour of staff. The firm has banned one of its partners from its offices while it investigates a complaint the man made offensive drunken remarks at a client function. Russell McVeagh was rocked by revelations in February that summer clerks had reported being sexually harrassed and assaulted while working there. The firm commissioned Dame Margaret Bazley to investigate -- in July she issued a scathing report that highlighted a culture of excessive drinking. Wellington Women Lawyers' Association convenor Steph Dyhrberg told RNZ reporter Jessie Chiang she's bewildered by the latest accusation.
