Schools fear flu season will worsen teacher shortage

Auckland schools are worried they won't be able to find enough relief teachers to fill in for sick staff once the winter flu season kicks in. Health Ministry figures show the usual winter spike in influenza cases has not yet happened, but the number of cases is beginning to grow. Helen Varney from the Auckland Primary Principals Association told our education correspondent, John Gerritsen, winter illnesses drive up schools' need for relief teachers.
