There are fears bar-tailed godwits will go hungry on their annual migration to Alaska. China has had one of its coldest winters in decades, making food scarce for New Zealand's godwits, which use the area as a pit-stop. But, all may not be lost, with researchers coming up with an ambitious plan to help feed the hungry birds.
