Questions around safety of fire-resistant aluminium composite panels

The system used in New Zealand to approve aluminium composite panels for highrises has failed a critical safety audit, but the government officials who commissioned the report from an expert in Australia in the wake of last June's Grenfell Tower tragedy have rejected his findings and are now looking for a second opinion. Louise Swann is an Auckland building consultant who has previously raised concerns about fire resistant cladding. She speaks to Philippa Tolley about the leaked report.
