Wellingtonians urged to curb water usage

From Morning Report, 8:44 am on 28 November 2017

Wellingtonians are being urged to conserve water after a recent dry spell caught the city's water supply management team off guard. Residents have been told they can water their gardens only every second day, and only from 6am-8am and 7pm-9pm. Water patrols are starting this week to make sure the rules are followed. Wellington Water's manager of treatment plant operations Jeremy McKibbin tells us bacteria has been found in the drinking water aquifer & they shut it immediately. He suspects it was after a recent earthquake.
