Fuel shortage not a major disruption - tourism industry

One of the country's tourism bosses thinks Auckland Airport's recent fuel shortage was no more disruptive than a winter's storm. But Chris Roberts from Tourism Industry Aotearoa does concede more may need to be done to boost fuel storage in Auckland. The 170km pipeline, carrying jetfuel, petrol and diesel between Marsden Point oil refinery and the Wiri storage facility in South Auckland burst in mid-September, causing hundreds of flight cancellations and delays.
