Shortages of specialist medical staff

Surgeries are being postponed or cancelled due to shortages of specialist medical staff at hospitals throughout the country. This morning, RNZ reported Waitematā D-H-B is now operating on people on weekends due to nursing shortages. This comes amid reports of other shortages across the health workforce. University of Otago health researcher Robin Gauld speaks to Max Towle.
