Nurses say staffing shortage is unsafe for aged care sector

The Nurses Organisation says it is "unsafe and unacceptable" for the aged care sector to continue operating with not enough staff to care for frail and dependent residents.

The organisation has launched a campaign for mandatory minimum staffing numbers of nurses and caregivers working in aged residential care. 

Auckland and Gisborne organiser Christina Couling, told Māni Dunlop that most nurses struggle to fit all their work into their shift, forcing them to regularly work late.
