Trade Minister warns MPs over Ughur 'genocide' language

The Trade Minister has issued a warning to his Parliamentary colleagues declaring the treatment of Uyghur Muslims as genocide will hurt New Zealand's trade relationship with China.

The ACT Party intends to put a motion to Parliament to debate the treatment of the minority and declare it as genocide.

Political parties considered their positions at caucus today - but they also had a warning from the Trade Minister to consider.
