Basin Reserve to become gender neutral for Cricket World Cup

From Checkpoint, 5:54 pm on 19 November 2020

Five cricket grounds are getting a face lift to make the players' areas gender neutral, in time for the 2022 women's Cricket World Cup. The Basin Reserve in Wellington is the first to undergo the transformation, with urinals and a communal shower in the changing sheds ripped out, and replaced with individual toilets and showers. Seddon Park, Hagley Oval, the University Oval and New Zealand Cricket's High Performance Centre in Lincoln are also set for upgrades. Former White Ferns and Wellington Blaze stalwart Liz Green gave our reporter, Ben Strang, a tour of the Basin Reserve's new changing sheds.
