High profile team of troubleshooters to help protect NZ border

The government has unveiled a high profile team of trouble shooters to help protect the country's border.

It is scaling back the use of private security guards at managed isolation facilities, opting instead to bring in another 500 NZ Defence Force personnel.

But private firms, who say they were blindsided by the decision, insist bureaucrats are not set up to be a security company.
