Covid-19: Govt urges NZers not to travel overseas

For the first time, the government has raised its travel advice to the highest level, urging New Zealanders not to travel overseas due to Covid-19.

Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters says anyone who still plans to travel out of the country is selfish and should reassess their plans for the greater good of everyone.

Meanwhile time is ticking for New Zealanders abroad to return home as the number of commeercial flights dwindles and borders close.

But some New Zealanders already stranded in remote locations around the world say government intervention is now their 'only hope'.
