More than 20 district court judges appointed to boost trial times

More than 20 new district court judges have been appointed today in a bid to speed up trial times and improve people's access to justice.

Eleven new judges have been promoted to replace retiring judges alongside ten new positions.

Attorney-General David Parker explained to RNZ political reporter Jo Moir why the numbers needed to increase.
