A huge hailstorm battered Timaru on Wednesday afternoon, damaging cars and roofs.
Witnesses say the hail was the size of golf balls and forced frightened residents to take cover.
Timaru woman Maria Edwards was at work when the storm hit and says she has never seen anything like it.
She spoke to Anan Zaki, but first we hear her in the hailstorm.
