Fiame requests Samoa parliament to convene this Friday

From Pacific Waves

The struggle to decide Samoa's government looks likely to head back to court, as the caretaker Human Rights Protection Party vows to appeal Supreme Court rulings that went against them this week.

The Supreme Court yesterday threw out the Head of State's call for a second election and reversed a decision by the Electoral Commission to add an appointed women's seat, that favoured the incumbent Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP).

In a brief televised statement following the ruling, the leader of the opposing Fa'atuatua i le Ātua Sāmoa ua Tasi (FAST) party, Fiamē Naomi Mata'afa, called on the Clerk of Parliament to convene a sitting of the House so members can be sworn in and a new government formed under her leadership.

She joins me now, tālofa and welcome on Pacific Waves Fiamē, so what happens now?
