The King of Tonga, TupouVI, had called for a new look parliament and after Thursday's election he has got his wish.
Nine of the 17 People's Representatives are new, along with three of the nine nobles.
But the parliament has taken a backwards step as far as gender equality is concerned with none of the 12 women who stood in the election able to secure a seat.
