Call for Climate Change talks to focus on people on the front line

From , 6:00 am on 27 January 2021

A Pacific climate activist is urging global leaders to ensure climate talks this year deliver more for affected communities on the front line.

Gladys Habu witnessed the impacts of climate change first-hand growing up in the Solomon Islands, documenting the disappearance of the island of Kale near her village on Isabel.

This month Ms Habu was awarded the Commonwealth points of light award by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, for exceptional voluntary service raising awareness of climate change.

She wants the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in November to also focus on solutions that can help the people being affected right now.
