Veteran PNG journalist retires after 40 years at ABC

From , 3:02 pm on 12 April 2019

Papua New Guinean Caroline Tiriman grew up in Rabaul in East New Britain but spent most of her working life as a journalist for the ABC in Melbourne.

For much of that time she was at the centre of the ABC's Tok Pisin service.

RNZ Pacific listeners have also been hearing Caroline in recent months as this station has carried the ABC's Wantok news.

Caroline retired earlier this month and Don Wiseman spoke with her as she reflected back on her 40 year long career.
