A school and homes on Vanuatu's southernmost island of Aneityum are reported to have been damaged after a tsunami hit following a 7.5 earthquake yesterday.
The quake was centred southeast of New Caledonia's Loyalty Islands, south of Vanuatu.
The owner of a tour company on nearby Mystery Island Benie Masauvakalo says he'd heard from his staff that people had been able to flee to higher ground.
He was in Port Vila when the news came through.
