A renowned professor of Pacific Studies is bowing out of academic life to spend more time with family and pursue other work in New Zealand and Samoa.
Tagaloatele Professor Peggy Fairbairn-Dunlop is leaving Auckland's AUT at the end of the month.
In a career spanning 30-years, she's taught from primary to tertiary level in both the Pacific and New Zealand, focussing on development, gender and the Pacific.
Tagaloatele was last year one of the Samoa government-appointed commissioners who investigated family violence there.
She both reflected and looked forward with Sara Vui-Talitu.
