Jamie Tahana has been a reporter for RNZ International since he started as a trainee in 2013. He has a keen interest in Melanesian affairs, particularly the political goings-on in Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu, where he travelled to cover a snap election in 2016 after a massive corruption scandal saw half a government jailed.

Whether it’s tales of scandal in the halls of power in Port Moresby or Papeete, the effects of great power play on the vast maritime frontier between world powers, the battles waged by some of the world’s smallest countries against the existential threat of climate change, or the rich histories and cultures of the great voyagers, Jamie has a deep passion for telling the stories of one the most remote, yet fascinating, corners of the world for one of the few organisations that endeavours to tell them.
