The police say they believe the remains of bones and a skeleton belong to a man and a woman but their records show no one has been reported missing from the area.

Meanwhile a 25 year old man found unconscious in the capital Apia has died.

He was found lying in front of the Samoa Shipping Corporation head office at Matautu-tai and was taken to hospital.

Police say the man has been identified and a post mortem will determine the cause of his death.
