A body discovered on an Apia seawall in Samoa on Saturday has been identified as a 45-year-old man who looks after a fishing boat.
The police said the vessel drifted away from its moorings on Friday and the man swam out to try to retieve it.
Some other fishermen recovered the drifting alia but could not locate the swimmer after extensive search that evening.
Police investigations are continuing and the name of the dead man has not been released yet.
The deceased man was from Le'auva'a and Vaiusu on Upolu.
