The Kiribati Speaker to Parliament has announced the next meeting of parliament will start on 23 April.

The Clerk to the House of Parliament Eni Tekanene told Radio Kiribati News it's the first time the speaker has arranged dates for Parliament meetings to give MPs and other groups more time to prepare.
Mr Tekanene said all MPs were expected to arrive in Tarawa two weeks before parliament starts sitting.
The other sittings this year are set for 20 August and 3 December.
