Thirty seven year old Iakopo Vitale has begun serving a 15 year jail term for the rape of his two sisters-in-law.
The girls were aged 14 and 15 years when he committed the crimes between July 2015 and December last year.
The married father of six was convicted of 13 sex crimes.
The Samoa Observer reports Supreme Court Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala-Warren said, in sentencing, that a breach of trust is unacceptable and the Court will take a tough stand against this kind of offending in an effort to eradicate it.
Justice Tuala-Warren said Vitale is married to the victim's older sister and instead of protecting them he took advantage of his position.
