A woman has been killed on Saipan in the Northern Marianas and her husband is intensive care after a knife attack following a heated argument with one of their tenants over a $US50 power bill.

Police say the 53-year-old Filipina woman and her 63-year-old husband were each stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife outside their home.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
